ISLA AND POWWOW REACH AN AGREEMENT WITH UNIVERSAL STUDIOS BASED PRODUCTION COMPANY CAPTIVATE ENTERTAINMENT “BOURNE FRANCHISE”
Isla Audiovisual and its partner in the Americas, 360 Powwow, have reached an agreement with Captivate Entertainment for the adaptation and coproduction of RAGE (RABIA) in the US. RAGE is Isla’s original scripted series currently being produced for Mediaset Spain.
Rage is a drama series, a genuine adventure thriller that follows the journey of a group of outlaws who—after undergoing a clandestine and experimental treatment to save their lives—become infected with an unknown rage virus that causes threatening behavior disorders. For that reason, the fugitives are forced to go into hiding, escape from the authorities, and strive to find a possible cure.
Rage joins the list of Isla’s original scripted formats that Powwow has successfully introduced in the US. Other shows on this list include Star-Crossed (The CW’s sci-fi romantic drama) and Blood Matters, in a coproduction deal that the two companies will be announcing shortly.
Los Angeles based production company Captivate Entertainment has a first look deal at Universal Studios and was formed by principals Ben Smith and Jeffrey Weiner. The company is involved in an extensive slate of development for both film and TV, including THE JASON BOURNE FRANCHISE.
