‘Under the Net’, best webseries on the World Media Festival in Hamburg

Season 1 of “Bajo la Red” (“Under The Net”) has been awarded with the Golden Globe for Best Web Series at the World Media Festival in Hamburg, becoming the first RTVE Digital series to be awarded at such event.
A category -Digital Series- that has been added this year, as a symptom of the fast development of the channels and platforms with a solid strategy in terms of non-linear fiction and VOD content in general. PLAYZ is playing for high stakes in this new type of fiction.
In Season 1, a group of teenagers (Maria de Nati, Guillermo Campra, Manuel Huedo, Angy Fernández and Pol Monen) get caught in a “pay it forward” chain that turns out to be less fair than what it initially looked like. Together, they will do their best to unmask the head of the network and reveal its identity.
One of Bajo la Red´s major assets has been its Transmedia strategy, partly through the creation of personal accounts on Instagram to one and every of the main characters, whose activity on Social Media would allow us to jump from fiction to reality, back and forth, breaking the barriers of the drama. To that also contributed the collaboration of “Naranja”, a real-life rock band who was integrated into the universe of the Series with a particularly key role within the story.
Following the success of Season 1, Season 2 is on post-production stage and it is planned to be released in the coming months. All episodes shall be available at PLAYZ, the RTVE´s non-linear, online platform for new content and series, as well as in Youtube. This season, new faces will sum up to the cast, such as: Michael Ronda, Ana Jara, Clara Alvarado and Marina Yers, who will join Guillermo Campra, María de Nati, Manuel Huedo and Angy Fernández in the main roles.
