Isabel, the historical series of the moment, is an original idea of Isla Producciones. Based on the life of Queen Elizabeth I of Castile, it was released on September 10, 2012. Its first season spans from his childhood to his proclamation as queen through civil wars for the throne of Castile, her marriage to Ferdinand of Aragon and diplomatic intrigue in the troubled Europe from the late fifteenth century. The second season covers until the conquest of Granada in 1492.
